Happy Wednesday! Week 15 is done and the season is slowly coming to an end. Here are the two players that exceeded expectations this week:
RB David Johnson, Arizona Cardinals, 29 Rushes, 187 Yards, 3 TDs, 4 Receptions, 42 Yards; ESPN Score: 40
Johnson, a rookie RB, had a really strong day scoring three rushing TDs for the cardinals on Sunday. With the starting RB Chris Johnson out, Johnson really kept the strong offensive streak going and put them in a good spot for the playoffs. I would pick him up off of waivers if you’re looking to stay competitive in the playoffs for your leagues.
RB Danny Woodhead, San Diego Chargers: 8 Rushes, 10 Yards, 0 TD, 6 Receptions, 50 Yards, 3 TDs; ESPN Score: 30
Woodhead showed his flexibility at RB efficiently scoring three TDs in San Diego on Sunday. The Chargers look to finish out its last couple of games strong to make up for a season of mishap and misfortune, with Woodhead taking lead.
Here are two players that underperformed in week 15:
RB Todd Gurley, St. Louis Rams, 21 Rushes, 48 Yards, 1 TD; ESPN Score: 13
Gurley has been a consistent RB for the Rams and many fantasy owners. Although the Rams won this past weekend, Gurley made little impact in the running game against the Buccaneers. This was an off day for Gurley — count on him to be a consistent FLEX for your playoff team.
WR Odell Beckham Jr., New York Giants: 6 Receptions, 76 Yards, 1 TD; ESPN Score: 13
Beckham Jr. has become a fixture and a tremendous impact on the New York Giants. However, for anyone who was watching their game against the Panthers, you saw he was thrown off his game with Norman all over him. He’s now suspended for the intentional helmet-to-helmet hit after the play, which isn’t in his character to do such a thing. Hopefully, for the Giants and fantasy owners, the league will revoke the suspension so he can play an important game where he will be needed to keep the Giants in the hunt for the playoffs.
Here is someone to look out for Week 16:
WR Rueben Randle, New York Giants
With Beckham Jr. currently suspended for the next game, Manning is looking to have a consistent receiver he can throw too. In case he doesn’t get the suspension revoked, it’s best to have a Randle as a solid backup receiver, especially if you don’t expect to have a good week with your receivers.
Here is someone you should sit for this week:
WR Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons
Jones has been having a very up and down season this year. The Panthers look to keep shutting down one of the NFL’s top receivers with Norman probably on him for the whole Sunday night game against the Giants.
Good luck to everyone for week 16 and happy holidays!
