What To Do In New York City This Weekend (Nov 4th-6th)

Ashley Falzone
Ashley is your semi-above-average 20 something living in Astoria who lives and breathes NYC life. She goes about her days looking forward to all the food she will consume. She also loves referencing Kanye West quotes in her articles whenever applicable.

Brunch, comedy, and running a marathon mesh together really well, right? For one weekend at least, make this a reality.

Food Porn Fest

I know that eating is MY favorite part of the day, and if it’s yours too, then you should attend the Food Porn Fest. Brooklyn’s first annual celebration of “all things food” is taking place for free on November 5 and 6. Forty vendors from all over the city will be in attendance to get you munching and crunching with drool worthy delicacies for hours on end.

Brunch Market

Can’t choose where to brunch with your friends this weekend? Head over to Urbanspace Vanderbilt, located right next to Grand Central, and feast your eyes upon a plethora of brunch options. Use Saturday and Sunday to get your mimosa fix from over 20+vendors, and never experience brunch the same way again.

NY Comedy Festival

If you need some laughter in your life after your long work week, check out the NY Comedy Festival taking place from November 1 to 6 at venues all across the city. A bunch of great comedians are on the lineup, including a conversation with the writers of Unbreakable Kimmy Scmidt (Tina Fey), Trevor Noah, Jay Pharoah and Sasheer Zamata. Tickets range from free to the $100 range, so pick your comedic poison wisely.

Oh hey @trevornoah. See you in a few weeks. #MakeNYLaugh

Comic Arts Festival

Taking place in Brooklyn on November 5, the free Indie Comics Festival will be bringing over 100+ exhibiters together to share in their unique graphics and animations. Check it out if you want to be inspired by this vast array of talents in a single day.

Can Jam

Although this sounds like some sort of event that belongs at a bluegrass festival, Threes Brewing is holding this free event called the Can Jam in good ol’ Brooklyn to celebrate the book “Complete IPA.” They’re corralling fresh canned IPAs from 11 of the area’s best IPA breweries, including Other Half, Finback and more. The cans will be sold in the backyard, where the author will sign copies of his book.

Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival

It’s not too late to snag a ticket to one of the best Electronic festivals NYC has to offer. Spread across several venues throughout Brooklyn, BEMF offers countless local artists, a week-long twilight panel, art installations and a special content series. Just don’t forget to follow along 20something’s BEMF food & bar crawl to catch the best drinks and munchies along the way.

TCS NYC Marathon

If you’re feeling super fat from stuffing your face all weekend, you can feel worse about yourself by watching human superheroes run the NYC Marathon on Sunday. The cheering is especially fun with all the signs that people make. If you happen to be running it, then kudos to you for being better than the rest of us.
