What are Kanye and Kid Cudi collaborating on?

Kanye West is one of the biggest rappers in the game today. Between his music, clothing line, and union with social media phenom, Kim Kardashian, every move the rapper makes is put under the microscope.

Kanye’s far stretching legion of fans analyze each tweet and statement hoping to get a clue on when we can expect new music from the Chicago-based rapper. Needless to say, I am one of these fans.

If you have been paying attention you would know that Kanye has spent the summer working in a remote cabin up in Wyoming. News outlets say Kanye is finding his “creative groove,” supposedly working on his long-awaited follow-up to “The Life of Pablo.” The album will be called, “Turbo Grafx 16,” and release is on schedule for later this year.

Lucky for us, this isn’t the only Kanye West-related news we got this summer. Last month, Kanye was spotted in Japan with his one-time protege Kid Cudi. This was accompanied by the report that the two are working on a secret project together, and followed by an Instagram of Yeezy and Cudi. The caption read “Coming Dec 31st! #EVERYBODYWINS #GODisGREAT.”

I couldn’t be more excited for this news. I was a high school for a bulk of Cudi’s albums (“Man on the Moon” and “Indicud” being two of my favorites). Like most people my age, I have a giant soft spot for Kid Cudi. His melodic rap style and unique voice mixed with drug-filled lyrics about growing up always appealed to me.

Both Kid Cudi and Kanye West are known for their genre-blending sound, taking sounds from indie rock, electronica, and gospel music to create their unique music styles that work so great together.

Long time no see @kidcudi and #kanyewest. Thank you for coming to my studio. It was fire 🔥🔥🔥

Last year, both artists went through their own issues involving mental health. Kanye was hospitalized due to mental stress and being overworked. Meanwhile, Kid Cudi check himself into a rehabilitation center because he was having suicidal urges.

It’s great to see that these two are getting healthy and rekindling their friendship by working. Check out some of my favorite Kid Cudi/Kanye West collaborations below.
