Weird Shit In The News This Week

Brandon is a Pace University graduate and avid Philadelphia sports fan, but don't hate him because of it...please? He was a former intern at the Howard Stern Show as well as a reporter for the MTA program Transit Transit Newsmagazine. He likes to be in front of the camera or behind the mic, but he enjoys news writing just as much.

People can be amazing; amazingly weird or stupid. Nothing is wrong with that of course, but solely for entertainment purposes, here are some stories from the week that you really won’t believe, courtesy of the Huffington Post.

Florida Woman Offers Cops Oral Sex

Even though this technically isn’t “weird,” it still is entertaining to read stories like these. It all began when a 24-year-old woman, who is also a University of Florida philosophy student, was pulled over for alleged drunk driving. After failing her sobriety tests, she allegedly decided to take matters into her own hands and offer her mouth as compensation. Three of the officers who were there were offered fellatio, which they declined. So since she tried to use her charm, she got three counts of bribery on top of her drunk driving charge. Oh, and she also had cocaine and weed in her bra. She later posted bond and was released. She looks pretty happy in her mug shot though, check it out.

Girl with Suspended License ‘Improvises’ ways to drive without a real car

Keeping it on the subject of impaired driving, a 20-year-old Texas girl received a DWI after refusing a breathalyzer test. As any parent should, she was disciplined by having her keys taken away and was given a bike as a method of transportation. Little Ms. Princess wasn’t satisfied with the punishment and quickly decided to take matters into her own hands. No, she didn’t go back after her keys, she decided to go to Craigslist to find another way to get around town and campus at University of Texas-Austin. She ended up buying a $60 Barbie Jeep with a top speed of 5mph. I guess that’s one way to arrive in style. She says that it has been the best decision she’s made in college so far. Aim high there sweetie.

New Version of Street View in Japan

Ever wonder what it looks like to see things through the eyes of a cat? Didn’t think so. However, one Japanese town is offering street view from 10 inches high. Right now, there is a start-up version of this service, but it is to expand on the tourism of the Japanese town of Onomichi. Why are they offering this street view which includes views of restaurants, bars, and nightlife? Well, according to the Huffington Post, the cat is sacred in this town and is full of them. It is believed that the sculptures of the cats in this town bring good luck and wealth.

Write an Essay, Win an Inn

Yes, you can seriously write an essay for $150 and 250 words and you could win an historic building. Guess this is one way to get rid of real estate. The building is valued at $600,000 and is on a lake in Vermont. If you would like to enter, you have until November 20 to do so. A minimum of 4,000 essays needs to be submitted. There is no obligation to continue to run the business there, but the current property owner would love to keep the tradition going. If only it was that easy to write an essay and hope to get a $1,000 scholarship to college.
