Wake Up Healthy: 3 Deliciously Easy Breakfast Ideas To Start Your Day

When it comes to waking up in the morning, the last thing on your mind before work is spending the time to make a well-balanced breakfast. Usually, dropping by the nearest coffee shop or Starbucks seems like the perfect solution. However, there’s a reason they say “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” — it’s an essential part of starting your day off right. Here are three easy and nutritional breakfast options for when you’re on the go:


1. Overnight Oats

What you need: 

  • Any jar durable enough
  • 1/3 cup of plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of rolled oats
  • 2/3 cup of unsweetened almond milk (soy, skim, or any personal preference works also)
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds or ground flaxseed
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1-2 tablespoons of honey or agave


How to make it: 

  • Whisk all ingredients together in a medium whisking bowl
  • Spoon into a jar with a tight sealing lid
  • Allow to sit overnight and grab to go in the morning


Spice it up with different flavors: 

  • Add 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa power for Chocolate Peanut Butter Oats

  • 2 cups of coconut milk
  • 1 cup of chia seeds

  • 1/4 cup of sweetener (agave, honey, stevia, etc.)
  • dash of cinnamon


How to make it: 

  • Mix all ingredients together in a blender
  • Allow the concentrate to sit overnight and grab in the morning


Switch it up with different flavors: 

  • Top with almonds and blueberries for Blueberry Almond
  • Add 1/4 cup of raspberries, blueberries, or raspberries into the blend to create a flavored mixture


3. Avocado Toast 

What you need: 

  • Two slices of whole wheat/grain bread
  • 1 small avocado (ripened)
  • 1 teaspoon of lime juice
  • Sea salt + black pepper
  • (optional) 2 eggs fried & sunny-side up


How to make it: 

  • Prepare toast (& egg if you choose) to personal preference
  • Mash the avocado with lime juice, add salt & pepper for flavoring
  • Spread avocado over the toast (top with egg over each slice if chosen) & add flavoring
