True Love’s Kiss Deserves One Of These New Disney Princess Lipsticks

Stevi graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama. When she's not auditioning and running around New York, she's escaping to her original home at the Jersey Shore and most definitely lying on a beach somewhere equidistant between the ocean and tiki bar. She's a coffee snob, craft beer enthusiast, technology nerd, and obviously (most importantly) has a very real addiction to buying and trying affordable beauty products.

There seems to be a really weird resurgence of interest lately in Disney characters, but redesigned in ways we didn’t originally meet them. Have you seen the BuzzFeed article about what Disney Princes would look like in real life? I mean, can I get a “hubba hubba” for Sir Eric over here? I would for sure give up my fins and/or other things for him.

Anyway, it’s funny to think about how these women caricatures were some of the first (and at times ridiculous) examples of beauty, elegance, class, and basically just semi unattainable life goals us young ladies had in our colorful lives. At some point we had a Disney Princess we wanted most to be in this world, and chances are we dressed up like them for Halloween. Some of you may not been as committed to this costume concept as I was (hey, I was Cinderella six years in a row as a child and then again my senior year of high-school), but you probably feel me. This is a truth that will probably be ours to share with generations of little lassies to come.

This month though, LA Splash Cosmetics has launched a line of liquid lipsticks with colors inspired by, and named after our beloved Disney Princesses for today’s future beauty queens to use to make their costumes more authentic. Okay, that’s not at all why they were created, but still. I need dis. We all need dis.

I can’t speak to the texture, comfort, or lasting power of these lipsticks since they literally were just launched and I haven’t been able to get my paws on them yet. Rest assured, I will and will write my thoughts on them.

In the meantime: The lipsticks run $14 a piece, claim to be waterproof, and are only available online. So, for now take a gander at these 12 amazing, somewhat daring shades of lipstick and get to wishing on that department-store-star that these will be easier to take home with us soon.
