If I’ve said it once I’ll say it again. I HATE the cold weather. My ideal temperature is between 75 and 82 degrees, no more or less. But alas we’re approaching pumpkin season (barf) and with these colder temperatures comes a slew of beauty and wardrobe changes that just must be made.
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat
I need my nice summer glow through the winter. Without it, I look dull and gray (as my brother likes to say). With this nice summer glow my pimples aren’t as visible, blemishes disappear and nay bags under my eyes are non-existent. Unfortunately the sun is starting to play hide and go seek and so are my blemishes. Lucky for me, a friend told me about YSL touche eclat. Now I’m the first to hate on these mainstream brands for not having darker shades and trust me this is no exception, I use the #7 shade, which is their darkest. I’m definitely dark skinned but there are people who are darker than me and they will be disappointed to find out another shade is not available.
However, for me, this stick is amazing. It blends perfectly into my skin, makes it look like I got the 12+ hours of sleep I always desire and has a nice little click and brush feature. YSL..do better.
This isn’t really a new trend, style or something that you need for October but I just got a PopSocket and I’m obsessed with it. The phone accessory allows you to prop up your device, gives you a better grip while texting and taking a selfie.
My boss recently got one from an event and after two days she decided she was tired of it and gave it to me. At first I was skeptical (I’ve made fun of quite a few people for using them) but now I’m believer.
Everyone knows cuffing season is coming up (If you don’t know, Google it) and if you’re like me and hate physical contact, but like the warm effect it has on you, then you should probably get a gravity blanket. Unfortunately I do not have one of these yet (I need about two more pay cycles to hit before I’m at that level) but please believe, by the time it heat is turned on in my building I will be wrapped up like a little burrito in my gravity blanket. It’s basically a weighted blanket that simulates being hugged or held and they come in three different weights depends on your body size (they suggest getting one that’s 10 percent of your body weight) you don’t want to feel suffocated after all. I’ve spoken to a few people that have them and all I’ve heard is good things.
Speaking of the cold and snuggling up, everyone should run out and get the new DVSN CD. Maybe not exactly the CD but definitely start streaming their music on Spotify. You’ve noticed this whole cuffing season, gravity blanket theme going on? Yea, same category.
Get yourself a desk buddy! Keep in mind this isn’t actually a real thing, but rather a cute desk decoration or something along those lines. Sometimes you just need an item to make you smile when you come into work — even goofy pictures to make you laugh. I personally have Felicia the Flamingo. She is not only fun, but doubles as a lip gloss as well. It may seem a little weird but trust me the joy I feel when I walk into work and see her little face staring at me is all worth it. Especially for someone that suffers from horrible seasonal depression you look for laughs where you can. This is probably one of the best gifts I’ve ever received.
