#TBT: If We Could Redo Prom, We Would Kill It With These Looks

Arielle Benasillo
Arielle Benasillo is a 23 year old New Yorker who's passion for makeup is real. Growing up with both parents as hair stylists, the skill ran in the family. She recently graduated from Make Up Forever Academy New York certifying her in beauty & fashion, theatrical, special effects makeup and body painting. Arielle is now a freelance makeup artist working on photo shoots, weddings and events, as well as being employed at Salon S for makeup artistry. On her free time she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, froyo night with her roommates, and taking advantage of bottomless brunch in Manhattan with friends.

It’s that time of the year, PROM!

Ohhhh the days when I would get as tan as humanly possibly because it was the only time my mom would allow me to step foot in a tanning bed, and you bet I was soaking it in everyday (do not attempt).

It also reminds me of the inevitable dilemma that we girls end up in — I’m talkin’ about these dresses ladies. And while I wish I could go back and do it all over again (and kill it), I can’t.

So I’m going to do the next best thing — relive it through a time traveling collage.

The two piece dresses are so in, if you don’t know then you will because I have plenty more to come.

Another trend- BRAIDS! If they’re not in your hair why not have it on your belt?

Can’t go wrong with that simple black dress. It also would pair well with a more dramatic hair and makeup. For example an updo to show that low-cut front and back off, and maybe a red lip? Mhm. Yep.

Who says you have to wear a dress? Remember when Kourtney Kardashian wore a suit to Kris Jener’s Great Gatsby birthday party? She looked like a ten, and I’m into the idea. So, I would most definitely be trying this baby on in the FR.

Jovani is a popular prom dress name, so I obviously had to raid that site. This is one that stood out to me. It’s just so beautiful and flowy.

There’s nothing about this dress that you couldn’t like. It’s classic, and fits most body shapes very well. Personally, I do not like the way I look in strapless anything, but this is not all about me, right?

I love the dress however, and the forest green color is beautiful and elegant. I feel like even though it’s simple, it’s a beautiful dress with a striking color that you would never look back and regret your choice.

Obsessed with beads and anything sequin. This dress is simple, yet elegant and shiny! You can go glam with this dress or casual, depending on how you feel when you put it on.

I know this is article is all about my favorite picks for prom, but this is definitely top five. I also cannot decide which color I like better for the life of me — black or white?!

This article might as well be sponsored by Sherri Hill. I hit the jackpot when I discovered their site! That’s where I found these next seven beauties.

Add some print to stand out in the crowd. This beautiful number reminds me of a bohemian babe, which is right up my alley.

Who doesn’t want to feel like a princess on prom day?! This will do it! I’m also loving the long sleeves as well as the mermaid style.

The slit is where it’s at. It’s like a whole new world with a slit.. You can move around and dance! Feel me? Not to mention you’ll be looking like a total babe in this dress.

Now this dress just makes me happy- it’s so fun and ready to paaarty! The different layers of colors in this dress is amazing. It’s perfect for those that love color, but always fear going too overboard. You also have so many shoe options for this dress, and that’s always a plus considering you need to get a cute pair AND comfortable enough for dancin’ shoes!

Yas girl work it. Black or red, doesn’t matter, you’ll be looking hot with this sexy number!

Lace <3333 I actually have a maxi dress that is a casual version of this. And it’s just so good, I would have to say I saved the best for last. This might just be my favorite one…
