The temperature is dropping, which can only mean one thing: it’s cuffing season! Therefore, it’s time to step up our dating game. Here’s the basic beauty lowdown how to stay on point through the season:
Get your beauty sleep on
It isn’t called beauty sleep for nothin’. You need those 8 hours, ladies! Don’t forget to wash your face the night before and throw on some moisturizer too so your skin is hydrated and looking healthy AF on the day of.
Exfoliate to get that beautiful baby glow
Before you go to sleep, exfoliate to get rid of that dull skin so you can glow, baby, glow. While you’re at it, exfoliate those lips too! This can be done with a washcloth or homemade concoction. Like I said before, don’t forget the moisturizer after you’re finished exfoliating.
Keep your brows in check
A brow check-up is always necessary. It’s one of those things that guys don’t purposefully notice — they’ll probably never be like, “Damn girl, your brows look amazing!” But, groomed brows will have you looking finished and put together, and trust me, they notice that. Try to clean them up a few days before a date to avoid any irritation or malfunction that may occur.
Make sure your teeth are pearly white
At this moment we curse you, coffee and wine. But fortunately, whitening strips are coming through. The Crest 3D White 2-Hour Express Whitestrips are everything you’ll ever need. My dentist recommended them and I’ve been happily using them ever since. You can do them the night before or the day of. I would use the strips while I’m laying low the night before, or doing my hair and makeup the next day. I would avoid any coffee, tea, or anything that could potentially stain your teeth after you whiten. If you must have your caffeine, drink through a straw. Your pearly whites might be sensitive, so drinking any liquid through a straw might be better for you anyway.
Keep it real and don’t paint your face with makeup
It’s always awkward when you wear so much makeup the first few times you see someone that when you eventually take it off, the people around you are like, “Where’d she go?” Don’t get ready like you’re going out to the club with your girls. This is a date! You need to look easy, breezy, and beautiful…something like that. He wants to see the real you, so keep it simple and avoid the smoky eye or heavy metallic shadows.
Keep your lips kissable…just in case 😉
Wear more of a natural color instead of a red. If you do decide to wear a pop of color, go for one that you know will stay on ICOS (in case of smooching, you’re welcome).
Don’t try anything new
The last thing you want to do is attempt a winged-liner for the first time and start sobbing because it’s all wrong, or try a new perfume and then hate the way you smell for the entire night. I’m all for trying new things, but leave it for another day!
Now you’re prepped, ready, and looking fabulous. Happy Dating! xox
