Saturday Inspiration From Top Motivational Leaders

Katherine Moreno
Katherine Moreno is a Miami native story teller who tends to focus on culture and progression. Ultimate goal in life: to pass on the experience in fashion, business, music, finance, dating, and traveling to help shed some light for the 20somes.

With the flood of social media pings, alerts, notifications, and posts, it’s hard to find quality content that motivates and furthers our advancement as dynamic and game changing 20somes. Sifting through the noise to feed our minds in ways that grow us can become a daunting task. (Thank you, Facebook algorithm hell.)

When you do start looking for noted speakers and idealists who supposedly have your best interests in mind, you can find yourself on a slippery slope lined with self-proclaimed gurus who are after your money and hawking their next New York Times best seller investment strategy guide. True teachers understand that knowledge is altruistic and cyclical, share and receive. If you don’t have the opportunity to have a mentor in your life or surround yourself with business owners, money makers, hustlers, etc. who are accessible, you can still seek sound advice. Take a break from the daily memes and faux inspirational quotes on your timeline, and get some real knowledge by these motivational leaders.

Warning: These motivators provide advice, processes and methods that, if implemented and practiced, can help you control your emotions and rationalize the challenges in your life giving you your best chance at overcoming and avoiding the pitfalls of stagnation.

These three motivators are Tony Robbins, Robin Sharma and Deepak Chopra.

These guys don’t claim to be better than you and I, or claim they have never made mistakes in their personal careers or life; they are just like you and me, except they carry this innate ability to convert their mistakes into lessons. Some of the most impactful quotes for me are listed below.

“The media sometimes calls me a “leadership (or self-help) guru.” Not true. I’m an ordinary guy who has learned a lot of ideas and tools that have helped many human beings and organizations become more successful. But let’s be clear: I’m no different from you. I just spend my days focused on this stuff. Thinking about practical ways to help you play your biggest game as a human being.” Robin S. Sharma

“What distinguishes people with an extraordinary character from the rest of us is how they respond when life sends one of its inevitable curves.” Robin S. Sharma, The Greatness Guide

“Identify your problems, but give your power and energy to solutions.”Tony Robbins, Awaken the Giant Within

“If you don’t set a baseline standard for what you’ll accept in life, you’ll find it’s easy to slip into behaviors and attitudes or a quality of life that’s far below what you deserve.” Tony Robbins

“The Ego, however, is not who you really are. The ego is your self-image; it is your social mask; it is the role you are playing. Your social mask thrives on approval. It wants control, and it is sustained by power, because it lives in fear.” Deepak Chopra, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success: A Practical Guide to the Fulfillment of Your Dreams

These quotes are accompanied by hours of working sessions to challenge you to evaluate and think about how to utilize this knowledge to your benefit. Sharma, Robbins and Chopra have over 90 years of combined experience of challenging the daily habits of the average person struggling with the day to day. From the world’s most powerful business and political leaders to the struggling mother of two children consumed by drug abuse and contemplating suicide, these guys are the ones called upon when results (lasting results) are needed now!

Every day I choose to not pollute myself with social media b.s. and seek advice, tips, and practices from motivational leaders to help mold my mind. If you make the active choice to pursue, listen and read a piece from anyone more experienced than you, congratulations! You are a rare breed, 20some. Keep it progressive, never stagnant and always transcend the rest.
