Also known as “how to impress your friends with sparkling skin, an enviable waistline and more energy than they have ever had during the dreaded afternoon slump.”

It’s all true. Green smoothies are loaded with fresh nutrients that benefit just about every one of the body’s systems… I won’t say all because my one crooked tooth is still a mystery to me.

If you’ve heard of the green smoothie craze that’s sweeping the nation, you’ve probably scoffed at the hefty price that businesses are charging their doe-eyed customers for them.

Well, I’m here to tell you that wellness should never break your bank! By making your smoothies at home you’ll save money, learn to tailor them to your tastes and actually use the kale that you’re about to let yellow again (yes, I am in your fridge).

Try out this basic green smoothie recipe to start reaping the benefits:

  • 2 Frozen Bananas, Chunks
  • 1 Cup of Frozen Fruit (optional)
  • 2-4 Leaves of Kale, Collard Greens or Swiss Chard
  • 1 – 1 1/2 Cups of Nut Milk (I like Almond)
  • Dash of Cinnamon
  • Ice (optional)

And blend. VOILA! You’re a lean, mean, green machine.
