A new wave of fashion is hitting South Florida. iii Points is a Music, Art & Technology festival that took over Miami’s art district during the past weekend. It’s three intense days of concerts, DJs, installations, beauty makeovers, and of course the ever so frequent break to chill out and people watch.
The festival definitely had an identity of it’s own when it came to fashion. The color of the weekend was primarily black, with some offset scatters of whites and holograms. Many of the attendees treated the event as a fashion week and were dressed to the nines.
Chunky shoes and skintight clothes were on the memo and we can’t forget about the collar necklaces. Designer meets thrift store was the style of the evening. You could tell that each festivalgoer consciously put together their outfit and it was uniquely expressed and clearly represented. Some of the accessories included quirky shades, press on glitter tattoos, jewels & knee-high socks.
But those that didn’t come dressed for the occasion didn’t fret. Aileen Quintana (a Miami based make-up artist) was ready with her glam squad to transform anybody’s look within ten minutes. Amazing! You could walk in and out of the installation as a new person.
Some of the various services included braids, color extensions, or some whimsical makeup designs. Quintana has been a part of iii points since it originally opened three years ago, and her instillations continue to grow with the rest of the festival! Let’s see what’s in store for next year, fashionistas!
