Pump It Up For Fall With This Protein Pumpkin Smoothie

It’s pumpkin and apple season! Nothing screams fall like the reemergence of cardigans and pumpkin-flavored everything. Although it’s short-lived, pumpkin flavors allow us to indulge in more than a few not-so-healthy snacks. However, pumpkin itself, is decently healthy, so for a flavorful twist on a power-packed smoothie, check out the recipe below:

Protein Pumpkin Smoothie

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 frozen banana
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup skim milk
1 tbsp of Vanilla essence
2/3 cup pumpkin puree
1 cup ice

DIRECTIONS:

Combine all of the above listed ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until smooth.
Pour into a mason jar, cup or margarita glass.
Optional: Sprinkle with cinnamon, top with whipped cream.
