Poet’s Corner: How A Woman Is Actually A Man’s ‘Sanctuary’

His Sanctuary

——

I am his temple,

His cathedral.

I am his guardian angel….

The place he seeks refuge

When things are rough.

I’m his sanctuary where he lights candles

During his darkest nights.

The sides of my neck are where

He leaves his prayers,

Seeking solace and redemption…

My collarbone and chest

Are where he confesses

The sins of his heart

Seeking to be sanctified.

My hands are where he

Places his faith and devotion…

Knowing my eternal love

Will keep him.
