Fantasy fanatics! The NFL has showed some very great games this year and Week 7 wasn’t an exception. Here are the two players who exceeded their playing this week:
RB Lamar Miller, Miami Dolphins: 14 Rushes, 175 Yards, 1 TDs, 3 Receptions, 61 Yards, 1 TD; ESPN Score: 35
From WR Jarvis Landry to QB Ryan Tannehill, many players exceeded their play this week on the Miami Dolphins offense. The most productive was Lamar Miller who had a stellar performance against the Texans in their 44-26 victory. Since former head coach Joe Philbin was fired, the Dolphins have really raised the bar and look to be a contender in a tough AFC East.
Jaguars D/ST, Jacksonville Jaguars: 31 Points Allowed, 2 INTs, 2 FR, 2 TDs; ESPN Score: 22
Most players featured in the “exceeded” category are usually backs and receivers. However, the Jaguars defense showed up in their win against the Bills. Although they gave up 31 points, people still need to know about their great defensive performance. It’s very rare for defenses to be recognized for their efforts, but the Jags really showed their tenaciousness this past Sunday.
With great performances, there are players who had a tough time to get things going in week 7. Here are two players who fell short of expectations this week:
WR Brandon Marshall, New York Jets: 4 Receptions, 62 Yards, 0 TDs; ESPN Score: 6
Brandon Marshall has been a very solid WR2 and FLEX player for many fantasy owners who have him on their team this season. This past game is the only game yet where he didn’t score a TD or catch over a 100 yards. I would recommend owners to keep him in the positions you have him still because this was the only bad game he’s had so far.
RB Carlos Hyde, San Francisco 49ers: 11 Rushes, 40 Yards, 0 TDs; ESPN Score: 4
Carlos Hyde had a very strong week in his week 1 Sunday night game against the Vikings, but the RB has been incredibly inconsistent since then. It’s been tough for Hyde to stay consistent since his week 1 outing, especially this past week, because of the offense.
Here is someone to look out for Week 8:
WR Stefon Diggs, Minnesota Vikings
Diggs is finally playing for the Vikings and he’s been racking up over a 100 yards receiving in the last two games. Though he’s a rookie, he’s finally establishing a connection with QB Teddy Bridgewater, who is looking to have a dynamic receiver to use as a blanket receiver. Look out for Diggs in the next game against the Bears.
Here is someone you should sit for Week 8:
RB Ameer Abdullah, Detroit Lions
Highly considered rookie RB Abdullah and the Detroit Lions expected a strong year after a great start this preseason. He and the Lions haven’t showed much since the season started, and it looks like it’s not going to get any better. I would trade him whenever you have the opportunity.
Good luck during week 8 and Happy Halloween!
