No More Excuses: How You Can Fit Being Healthy Into Your Busy Lifestyle

Believer of balance in mind, body, and life, and striving to achieve it daily.

Start your body off right in the AM – no matter what your PM plans are:

no excuses

Before eating ANYTHING, drink 8 oz of water, and then drink the following:

8-10 oz hot water mixed with:

  • half of a lemon, juiced
  • 2 tsp. FRESH GRATED GINGER – if you’re that lazy, you can buy the refrigerated “fresh ginger” tubes that are sold right next to the fresh ginger in the produce aisle but c’mon, do your body good, and give it the best.
  • 2 tsp. RAW ORGANIC apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp. RAW ORGANIC honey – this honey is more expensive than the regular ones in a squeezable container, ONLY comes in a jar, and is more of a light yellow than a burnt orange.

Mix the ingredients together and drink this warm concoction every day for two weeks and see how much better you feel.

If you don’t think you can manage this every morning, make a big container of seven servings on the weekend to pour yourself out every morning and microwave or heat on the stove for a minute. NO EXCUSES.

Set your alarm 15 minutes early:

And do a 10 minute morning wakeup yoga flow.

If that’s not your thing, just do a 10 minute Pilates core workout.

Or if you’d really liked to start your day with a bang, try a 10 minute HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout.

Better yet, find out when the sun rises in your city and set your clock 10 minutes prior to that. Take a walk with the sunrise and see how much brighter your day seems. Our biological calls are naturally programmed to run with the sun; our circadian rhythm actually syncs with the hormones in our body that control everything from our hunger to our emotions (did you know, almost all your hormones are created in your stomach? That’s why it’s so important to fill your stomach with good things!).

If you walk with the sunrise every day for two weeks, you will notice a GIANT change in your overall health and wellness. And no, it doesn’t work the same as sunset walks 😉

What’s 15 minutes to you? NO EXCUSES — and you probably won’t feel as bad as you would normally feel when someone brings doughnuts to the office.

Be prepared:

Don’t rely on eating out for your meals – not only does this wreak havoc on your wallet, but you really have NO IDEA what’s going on in the kitchen (I don’t mean bugs. I mean how much oil are they sautéing that “pan-seared” salmon in? More than you think.)

Always keep snacks like nuts and protein bars in your bag when hunger strikes and make it a rule to NEVER spend money on food unless it’s something you really can’t cook yourself.

Do this for a month and I promise you’ll see your bank account expand (maybe spend it on some leggings for your healthy new self) and your waistline shrink.

Motivate yourself:

Nothing gets you in a better mood than a good playlist and cute workout clothes. Getting to your workout, whether it’s spinning, yoga class, boxing, or a (gasp!) regular gym, putting on cute clothes can help you get your ass over there. And hey…if you don’t have time to get there, if you follow all the above, maybe you can just pretend you did.
