Tryna get into your #feels right about now? Then listen to this week’s New Track Tuesday featuring the incredibly successful songwriter and artist, Emily Warren’s, new single “Something to Hold on To.”
You’ll recognize her unbelievable vocals from her massive hit “Capsize” ft. LA duo Frenship, which reached over 200 million Spotify listens (!!!!!!!). You’re probably unaware, but Emily is a wildly successful songwriter for major pop artists such as The Chainsmokers (*hint hint* she is the female vocalist on their viral hit “Paris”), Alessia Cara, David Guetta, Shawn Mendes, Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, Maren Morris, and Florida Georgia Line.
Her most recent release will hit you right in the mid-week feels. This piano-backed ballad pairs beautifully with her insanely powerful vocals. The song centers around the fear and frustration of a loved one smoking cigarettes.
“At the time I was dealing with a lot of anxiety,” Emily recounts, “and watching my boyfriend smoke cigarettes when I felt like he was the one tangible thing in my life that I could rely on and hold on to, was something that hit me pretty heavy.”
Check out this deep track to get #superemotional and, ya know, maybe give yourself another reason to cry other than the fact it’s not even hump day yet.
