Two years ago my friend turned me on to an artist by the name of Popeska. I immediately became a fan. About a month later, I had the privilege of meeting Popeska at TomorrowWorld, and it turns out the talented DJ is also the sweetest person ever. But then, he fell off the map.

Which is why I’m really excited about this week’s #NewTracksTuesday since it marks Popeska’s return. “Doing Me Wrong,” off his upcoming album, Spirit Animals, shows a new side to the DJ, while keeping the same vibe that makes him, well, him.

In an open letter to fans last week, Popeska explained the reasoning behind his extended absence, citing a growing frustration with the business side of the industry and pledged that moving forward he will be releasing music “for no other reason than the fact that I love it and I love you and I want you to hear it.”

In any case, we’re super glad to have you back, dude.
