Mentally and physically bouncing back from any holiday weekend can be a laborious task. The holiday weekends that occur later in the year, and are centered around family time and full tables, require a special kind of mental toughness to quickly bounce back from. Try these hacks to speed up your process:

Eat the leftovers…all of them:

Don’t let it drag out. The quicker you get rid of them, the faster you can get back to your regularly scheduled meals instead of dwelling on the pending deliciousness in your refrigerator.

25 days of fitness:

Today starts 25 days until Christmas. It’s a great way to tackle a new fitness challenge such as 25 days of squats or 25 days of push ups. Then you’ll only have 6 days until the new year.

Start your holiday gift shopping early:

If you can get it out of the way earlier, you’ll reduce the amount of stress on yourself (so you won’t catapult from a crazy Thanksgiving meal weekend into ongoing emotional eating).

It’s tempting to find any way to extend your long weekend, even if it means skipping out on your usual fitness routine to get some more relaxation in after work or school. However, Monday is the day to set the tone for the rest of your week. Set a goal, remember the three plates that you took down on Thursday, and get to work!
