Chill Out: 5 February Essentials To Survive The End Of Winter

Lindsey Washington
Lindsey Washington aka lindsanity to her friends can either be found roaming the city looking for shade or out with friends throwing shade. She is currently trying to work on her obsession with Lil Wayne and accepting the fact that they will probably never get married, also Drake.

I hope everybody who had been bitching about the warmer-than-usual weather is happy because it’s officially freezing outside. I’m mad, I’m cold and my cuticles are freezing off. Despite the freezing weather, life must go on and these are the products that are helping me get through it.

Get a onesie, any of sort onesie.

Really, you won’t regret it. I have two because I was nervous about being cold in my apartment this winter. If your apartment is cold or if you are going outside and it’s cold, you can always wear a onesie and never have to be worried about being cold again (cause, why not). Bonus points if you can find a onesie with feet.

Tresemme perfectly undone conditioner

Winter has come upon us, and my hair is officially suffering. Despite my efforts to run my humidifier 24/7, there is zero moisture in my home and the air is very stiff. This is best used as a deep conditioner — after washing, put a generous amount on your hair, cover with a shower cap and sit for a minimum of 30 minutes, then rinse out. You can thank me later because your hair will be silky smooth and thirst-free.

Any L’occitane lotion product

I know I talked about lotion last month, but you really need to keep yourself stocked up during these dry times. Every shower you take, every wool stocking you put on, every wooly sweater just sucks the moisture right out of your skin. I have made it my personal mission to help you put it back.

A Netflix subscription

My personal favorite activity during the winter is to Netflix & Chill with a nice tub of ice cream. I find that Netflix is best enjoyed Monday through Sunday between the hours of 11am-midnight. The subscription is $7.99 a month I think? I’m not sure cause I still use my parents account and really hope they don’t read this and realize that I’m mooching off of them.

A whole batch of Candles

Yankee Candles, Voluspa, Diamond Candles, literally anything. Since the sun goes down at 4:30 p.m. it’s nice to have a little non-harsh natural-ish light in your living space. My roommates refer to winter as my candle season because every night for at least one hour I like to burn a sweet scented candle to trick my body and my brain to thinking I’m at a relaxing spa surrounded by cupcakes. Bonus points if you buy a diamond candle and actually get a cute diamond ring at the bottom.
