It’s March and I’m officially sick of the two months of cold weather we dealt with here in New York City. I’m ready for sunshine, spring and drinking outside. To help you smoothly transition from winter to summer, I give you the March spring essentials.
1. Brightly colored nail polish
I will always wear black because it’s flattering, it matches with everything and it’s super chic. However when it comes to my nails I like to spice things up a bit. I love bright colors from Essie, Opi, Wet n’ Wild and anything I can find at Sephora. Also having nice nails makes me feel more put together and pretty. Who doesn’t love that?
2. A fur vest
Since it’s not warm, but also not frigid, I feel weird wearing sweaters, but also can’t wear short sleeves and long sleeves make me feel caged. SO what’s your solution? A fur vest. They are chic, warm and instantly glam up any outfit. Since I don’t support killing animals for fur and can’t afford a real fur vest I suggest you scoot your way over to Nordstroms or H&M. The great thing about these vests is that any color will do. I personally have both black and gray but I have my eye on a smooth green or perhaps a maroon one when I start feeling a little more bold.
3. An HBO subscription
This may seem strange, but when you’re as into “Game of Thrones” as I am, it’s actually not. For all you fans out there, you know “Game of Thrones” is returning in April. If you’re not a fan, I highly suggest you call out sick and start binging. It really has something for everybody. Dragons, magic, death, life and Jon Snow — what more could you want? Also this weather is prime binge weather and what better way to spend the last moments of cuffing season than snuggled up watching people get beheaded?
The whipping winds, the above average apartment temperatures and generally bad lifestyle have probably all contributed to your dry skin. Give your scaly winter skin the gift of hydration and use GlamGlow’s hydrating mask. I LOVE this stuff. Put it on your face, let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes, then wipe it off. More than likely your skin will have absorbed all of the treatment because it’s begging you for moisture — you’re welcome skin.
5. Some really great organic body wash
I personally just purchase Puracy Natural Body Wash. I’m not sure what it is but I’ve decided to try and begin to introduce more natural and holistic things into my life (not including everything else I just listed above), but I’m working on it.
I’d like to say this product is amazing, and I can’t tell if that’s because it’s making a difference on my skin or because I feel good using an organic product. Either way I’m not going to stop. I don’t feel that dry squeaky stripped clean feeling afterwards, which signifies to me that I’m doing something right. Next I’m trying the lotion and maybe even one day the shampoo and will be sure to report back my findings.
