There are some things in life that you should run from, and certain foods are no exception to the rule. There are a few particular items which are so detrimental to the human body that we should pray to never find them along our food journey, despite our personal dietary guidelines.
The problem is, we always do. While walking through the grocery store aisles, you pass by the “cookies” section, scanning all the different types of junk food you can have, tempted to get those crackers that might as well say “Cancer in a Box” on them. If just the sight of the food doesn’t tempt you, those damn marketing teams are determined to make them seem too good to resist.
Here are four foods that you should stay away from, even if your mind is telling you to throw it in your cart or just take onnne bite…
1. Processed Meats
This one is painful because, well…bacon. Bacon. Bacon Bacon. Don’t be fooled by that crisp, sizzle or salty and yummy taste. It’s loaded with tons of preservatives, dyes, sodium, and a shelf life that is entirely too long for something that was once strolling through the tall grass. Processed meats are a nice quick way to to put your cardiovascular health into serious decline.
Unnecessary calories, bad teeth and acidic effects are a few of the delicious ways that this fizzy treat can wreak havoc on your system. Just put the Coke or Pepsi down. It’s not worth the long term negative effects.
3. Fat Free Foods
This is one of those foods with great marketing teams behind it. Naturally free of fat is a great way to go. However, if your little Debbie snack is fat free, you better believe that it has an insane amount of sugar to keep you coming back.
4. Microwaveable Meals
This falls along the same lines of processed meat. If there’s something that could be made fresh and served on the spot, but instead is boxed up, frozen, and still deemed as edible three years later, it can’t possibly be good for your system. Take the time, learn to cook a few simple meals and protect your digestive system from factory produced food bits.
